How Much Money Can I Make as a Freight Broker?
Here at Freight Brokers, we’ve been answering some frequently asked questions about the industry,so in this post we’ll take another rather important question. “How much money can I expect to make as a freight broker?”
This is one of those questions that will have no set answer, as your individual earnings will depend on your personal abilities and how determined you are to succeed. It stands to reason that the more you focus your energy and are willing to invest in your own success, the more money you will make as a freight broker, or broker’s agent. As a ball park guideline however, you can expect to make from $40,000 to well over $200,000 or more per year as a full-time broker or agent. It’s nice to know that the potential for making money in this industry is virtually unlimited as you grow.
So leading on from that scenario, you may want to know how long it will take for your business to become profitable?
As in every business, it takes some time to build up your business and its customer database. Generally it can take anywhere between 3 to 6 months of focused, disciplined work before you’ll begin to show a substantial profit. But in some cases it can take much less time and sometimes more. However, once you begin attracting and securing customers, you’ll find that they generally have residual shipping, meaning the sale will repeat itself over and over.
So when you want to know the answer to the question, “How much money does a freight broker make?” the answer depends upon your level of success, which as in any business depends on many factors. These include your level of determination, your tenacity and persistence in the face of adversity and your genuine desire to help your customers succeed.
Simply put, if you mean to succeed, you will.
